Seeing as my last blag post was in February 2023, I figured I should come on and explain where I've been all this time. I didn't lose interest in making yarn or anything, I just haven't been physically capable of doing it.
Long story short, I got pregnant about this time last year with a very much expected, very much planned pregnancy. Was expecting it to be a breeze like my first pregnancy but ohhhh ho ho ho ho no it was not. It was not an easy pregnancy. There were complications the whole time, I had to be very very mindful of my health and physical activity, and ultimately the baby was delivered six weeks early on October 30th 2023.
Then he spent the next eight weeks in the NICU.
So, since he came home I've been working on figuring out how to be a good mom to two kids, my husband's work schedule is sufficiently all over the place to the point it's been very difficult for me to even think about planning on working. I have a bunch of idea for yarn I want to dye, I just have a lot of hurdles to get over before I can actually get back to work. Not the least of which being getting my Shopify store back under my control.
On the bright side, I am back on my feet, I'm in much better health, things have settled into a reasonably predictable rhythm at home, and I'm ready to get my work back under way.
Currently in the process of cleaning up the shop (aka my garage) and taking stock of my materials. Once that's done, I will be able to reorder whatever I need and get back to putting yarn in dye again.
Summarily, I'm doing great, my babies are doing great, and hopefully soon my business will once again be doing great.
